italiangroovecollectiveOn December 9 of last year, the debut album of the Italian Groove Collective (IGC) was released. This Italian national collective combines groove with jazz and funk. The album has been released both digitally and on CD, and was recently handed to me.

Italian Groove Collective – Italian Groove Collective

318211390_5478414392257563_4571268450307267054_nThe Italian Groove Collective are  Gianni Vancini, Andy Bartolucci, Jacopo Carlini, Costantino Ladisa, Francesco Puglisi, and Donato Sensini. Groove and Soul are two terms that are widely used in musical everyday life. The novelty consists in wanting to offer these sounds in Italy and abroad with a single brand that represents the best Italian musicians who have these innate rhythms as a common denominator.

The collective intends to propose its repertoire live, thus creating a national “movement” in which, depending on the area of the exhibition, the participation of the many local artists who have joined the project is expected. The live repertoire also ranges from original songs and unreleased Soul / Funk reinterpretations of songs by Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis, Grover Washington Jr., David Sanborn, Marcus Miller to versions of Soul music classics (Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and many others).
