Lowell Hopper – Another Hot Summer Night
Three years ago I was first introduced to guitarist & multi-instrumentalist Lowell Hopper. At the time, his smooth & contemporary jazz reminded me of the work of George Benson. Of the 20 albums he released from the mid-nineties, this might be his best work!
His indie smooth jazz is based on a colorful blend of sharp electric guitar, cheering bass lines, haunting melodies, funky grooves and fresh beats.
Lowell grew up in Virginia and was introduced to music at a young age, often listening to his father play acoustic guitar and sing in their home. Lowell began playing guitar himself at the age of 6, and nine years later he was playing guitar and bass in R&B and blues bands in nightclubs.
