Greg Satterthwaite – Who I Am

Who I AmDebuting an album is an especially exciting time for any artist, and this holds true for Greg Satterthwaite. Who I Am represents the essence of Greg as a musician, writer, and producer and embodies his true talent for creating memorable melodies. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, and raised in South Florida, Greg has loved playing the piano since childhood.

“Who I Am” has allowed me to express myself musically like never before. Each track on the album has a special meaning, and embodies a lifetime of my personal musical experiences. During the album’s recording session, I was surrounded by world class musicians who breathed life into each song, and invigorated my passion for debuting this album even more,” said Satterthwaite.

The album features Nathaniel Stokes on drums, Joshua Esther on bass, Mitchell Farber on guitar and Pat Seymour on saxophones. A graduate of the University of Miami and Florida Atlantic University, Greg is an inspiration to aspiring musicians who desire to play, write, and produce music as a career. “I have been truly blessed. I have always wanted to create and play music, and I have been able to accomplish that goal, and debut an album that is one of my best works yet,” said Satterthwaite.

Dee Brown – Brown Sugar Honey-Coated Love

Which guitarist would like to be described as the best kept secret? Certainly not guitarist, songwriter, arranger, producer and vocalist dee Brown. After his debut album No Time To Waste (2006) and his sophomore album A Little Elbowroom (2009) this condition should change with his third album Brown Sugar Honey-Coated Love (2014).

With the change of the label to Innervision Records also the musicians involved are slightly different than in previous productions. Valdez Brantley (keys), Chip Dixon (keyboard programming and bass), Dave “The Painter” Henderson (bass), Kern Brantley (bass), Dezie McCullers Jr. (sax), Lin Rountree (trumpet, flugelhorn), and various singers are listed in the liner notes.

All songs with the exception of one track are composed by dee Brown and his fellow musicians Valdez Brantley, Chip Dixon, S. Edwards. My Love’s Forever is the first track after a short promotional intro. Dee Brown duets with saxophonist Dezie McCullers Jr. and the song tends more to contemporary jazz than smooth jazz. Dee adds some scat to his guitar play following his idol George Benson.
