As the sun sets over Sunset City, palm trees sway in a gentle summer breeze, waves crashing against the shore as neon lights on the strip begin to flicker into life, shining through the twilight, the night air filled with anticipation… Heatwave is the fourth album from Max Cruise, with eight original tracks inspired by 1980’s smooth jazz fusion and action movie soundtracks of the era combined with modern synthwave flair.

Long-time collaborator Pat DiMeo of The Motion Epic returns as a featured vocalist on Shadow In The Night and special guest Cam Blokland shreds his way through several fiery guitar solos on Ocean Drive, Speedway and the title track Heatwave. Composed and produced by Benjamin Harrison, the album was mixed by Ben Wood at Delta King Studios and mastered by Ben Feggans at Studios 301 in Sydney, Australia. My comment: “Harold Faltermeyer meets Smooth Jazz”.
