Kim Scott – Free To Be

Kim Scott is one of the most sought-after classical and jazz flutists in the United States. Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, she burst onto the jazz scene in 2011 with her debut CD Crossing Over. Her next albums are Rite of Passage (2013) and Southern Heat (2016). Now she returns with her fourth album Free To Be (Innervision Records), scheduled for release July 19, 2019. James “PJ” Spraggins (drums), Sean Michael Ray (bass), Eric Essix (guitar) and many more are supporting Kim in recording the album.

On the new album you find a sensitive cover of The Look of Love, a popular song composed by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.  Kim Scott teams up with smooth jazz hit maker, Jonathan Fritzen on her new single, Emerge, her co-writer who creates beautiful harmonies and a stunning piano solo. This song captured the Number 1 place on the Smooth Jazz National Airplay Billboard Charts. Further songs are Best Part, Free To Be, J’s Groove (named after Kim’s son), The Prayer, No Worries and more.
