Patrick Tribitt – Happy

Patrick Zuriel Tribitt is a phenomenon on the bass and has managed to stir the hearts of everyone who has had the opportunity to witness his skillful playing. Patrick began his career at the age of eight years old with his musical family. He started out playing for his older brother’s group “The Elements of Faith”, who traveled around the world delivering the message of the gospel through song. Born in Chicago, Illinois but raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Patrick began his musical journey after becoming infatuated with his father’s bass guitar. Having both a mother and father who were musically gifted, it was no surprise that Patrick taught himself how to play the bass guitar. He was inspired by some of the greatest and most respected bass players in the business such as Chick Corea, Andrew Gouché, Marcus Miller, Keith Newton, Jaco Pastorius, Wayman Tisdale, and the Yellow Jackets. Patrick aspired to reach a pinnacle of success that would acknowledge and give credit for his anointed, soulful skills but more importantly, honor God for the gifts he was given. Patrick is also known for his big heart and contagious sense of humor. He believes that laughter truly is like medicine to the soul (Proverbs 17:22a).

In 1997 Patrick uprooted his belongings and made a faith move to Houston, Texas becoming the bass player at Abundant Life Cathedral Church under Pastors Ed and Saundra Montgomery. It was there where he also met and married his wife, Diane.  Patrick is also an up and coming producer and owner of Zuriel Recording Studios. He is credited for his skills on the track “Master Plan” by award winning gospel artist Tamela Mann. He also laid down bass tracks on “Get Excited” and “Are You Ready” by indie artist Shelia Moore-Piper. He helped produce multiple projects for legendary saxophonist Kyle Turner and recently, produced the single “I’m Here” by Andrea Baty. It is of no surprise this amazingly talented musician and producer is becoming very much sought after. In 2016 Patrick released his first single “Happy”, a rendition of the charting song originally recorded by the group Surface. His latest single, “Be Grateful” a remake of the Hawkins Family classic, is stirring up the airways. Now he collected the songs on one EP.
