Samuel Obie – Cat-a-Fly

Author, singer, songwriter, musician & producer raised in the small town of Hillsborough, NC, now residing in Charlotte Metro area. Samuel Obie’s instrument of first choice is the Hammond B3. But he performs also other instruments. Cat-a-Fly is his newest album.

Samuel comments: “I do music from my heart. Having gospel music roots, along with listening to r & b, now playing jazz live with a friend who has introduced me to the great Jimmy Smith, my songs takes a little from all these elements and gives me a basis for my creativity. I was trained on a Wurlitzer spinet at age 14 by my Mom. Going to work with Shirley Caesar, John Kee, Edwin & Walter Hawkins, Bobby Jones allowed me to experience the console Hammond Organs like the B-3 & C-3. Then, working with my talented siblings gave me the opportunity to buy portable Hammonds Sk1 for my studio & the XK-1c for my roadshows. I’m having fun doing what I love music. The first track BFF signifying music as my best friend that’s been with me since age 14.”

Cat-a-Fly is on sale at CDBaby.
