Uncle Los Music – Black Bottom Cupcake

On the heels of his broadly accepted debut album, Say Something, Carlos “Uncle Los” Sanders declares that he, indeed, has a lot to say musically…and intends to be heard with his followup album Black Bottom Cupcake. The San Francisco-based keyboardist/songwriter has worked as a sideman for several Bay Area bands in the `90s, playing in the Jazz and R&B genres. He later became the keyboardist for R&B singer Zoë Ellis, appearing on her 2007 release, Live at Anna’s Jazz Island.

Uncle Los continues to enlist the artistry of several well-respected local musicians. Drummer Jay Lane is best known for his work with guitarist Charlie Hunter’s trio, bassist Les Claypool and, currently, Bob Weir of The Grateful Dead fame. Guitarist Cedricke Dennis is renowned in Bay Area Jazz circles for his precision technique and musicianship. Trumpeter Clifford Brown III – whose greatness is an extension of that handed down by his grandfather, the legendary Clifford Brown – is also highly sought after as an artist and producer in his own right. Bassist Victor Little has toured with the likes of guitarist Joyce Cooling and international singing superstar Gino Vannelli. Carlos also frequently calls upon the impassioned featured vocal talents of Mike Cheadle and songstress Mickala Cheadle. The level of respect and professionalism garnered by each of these fine musicians makes for an especially fantastic project and a powerful live show.

Please enjoy the journey within Black Bottom Cupcake as you are guided through the soundscape that is uniquely Uncle Los Music. Just arrived on CDBaby.
