Thom Douvan – All Over Again

All Over AgainA “throw-back release with plenty of modern day flair,” Thom Douvan‘s All Over Again recalls an era in music when labels did not matter. As Duke Ellington said, “There are only two kinds of music, good and the other kind.” This is the third CD released by composer-bandleader-guitarist Thom Douvan and features world-class musicians with plenty of heavyweight credentials to their names: Mitchel Forman on keyboards (formerly with Mahavishnu John McLaughlin, John Scofield, Mike Stern, Stan Getz), Jimmy Earl on Fender bass (formerly with Robben Ford, Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Joe Sample), Trey Henry on upright bass (formerly with Ray Charles, Gerald Wilson Orchestra, Kenny Burrell, Flora Purim), Michael Barsimanto on drums (formerly with Steve Vai, Billy Preston, Ivan Neville, Jean-Luc Ponty), Luis Conte on percussion (formerly with Madonna, Phil Collins, Bonnie Raitt, and currently touring with James Taylor), and co-producer Michael Parlett on woodwinds and percussion.

This record features all original compositions, plus a vocal version of Kenny Burrell’s composition “Then I Met You” featuring renowned vocalist Lynne Fiddmont in what is destined to become a smooth jazz/contemporary hit. Get this gem at CDBaby.
