Kayle Clements – XI

A culmination of over a year’s work, XI strikes a balance between smooth jazz and solo piano music. XI is a collection of 10 original works and a solo piano medley of When She Loved Me from Toy Story 2 and the Beatles classic Blackbird, all played with Clements’ personal style and creativity. Clements also gives a nod to the composers and artists that inspired him. You can hear the influence of Dave Grusin, Bob James, and Vince Guaraldi, behind Clements’ own unique sound.

Accompanied by some truly outstanding musicians – Robert Pace on bass, guitarist Gordon Proulx, Charlie Royce on sax, drummer Andy Sheneman, and special guest star guitarist Bryan Lubek on Brisa Del Caribe – the album focuses on strong melodies and grooves with an occasional twist and turn. “I am extremely proud of this album.” says Clements. “We had a lot of fun and I think that enjoyment shines through the record.”

XI is a record not only for jazz enthusiasts, but for lovers of any music that comes from the heart. So give it a listen at CDBaby.
