Jake Glasgow – Keepin’ On

Jake Glasgow is releasing his second solo CD Keepin’ On on April 9th. He performs or programs all the music on these tracks. Additional performances by the following very special guests: Matt Ramerman (drums), Brad Johnson (bass guitar), Peter Bagale (vocals), Nick Rosenthal, Matt Merritt, and Jeff Reichman (guitars).

All songs were composed by Jake Glasgow with the exception of “Ooh Child” which was composed by Stan Vincent (The Five Stairsteps) and arranged by Jake Glasgow. All songs were produced by Jake Glasgow except track 4 “Keepin’On,” which was co-produced with Matt Ramerman.

Jake comments:  “A lot of good times were had in the making of this album. I would like to thank everyone involved for lending their talents, ears, support, and antics. It’s been three years since my first solo release and I couldn’t be more excited about the second. I thank you all for your interest and continued support. Enjoy!”

Jake Glasgow graduated from the Berklee College of Music, Boston MA with a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Writing and Production. While at Berklee Jake studied the saxophone with Grammy award winner Fred Lipsius of Blood Sweat and Tears. Berklee also put Jake in charge of their MIDI lab, which at the time was the largest networked MIDI facility of its kind in the world.

After Berklee, Jake’s knowledge of MIDI led him to Coda Music Technology in Minneapolis MN. Coda Music, nowMake Music Inc., is home to Finale, the world’s top selling music notation software. While at Coda Jake assisted the company with development and assisted users with computer music notation and MIDI setup. Some of the many people Jake often assisted were Branford Marsalis, Harry Connick Jr., and Chick Corea. After helping the company with a smooth transition to the 2001 version of the software Jake returned to his hometown of Rochester NY to pursue other musical avenues.

In 2004, Jake and business partner and bass player extraordinaire Brad Johnson opened inTune Contemporary Music & Production Inc. as well as ArtWalk Productions Recording Studio in Rochester’s Artwalk District District.Both businesses were housed in a completely renovated 2300 square foot former candy factory . inTune, a school of contemporary music offered private music lessons in Brass, Woodwind, Drums/Percussion, Bass, Guitar, and Piano. In addition to private lessons inTune offered Ensembles as well as classes in Music Technology, Ear Training, and Contemporary Music Theory.

As a performer Jake has performed live and as a studio musician with groups all over the United States. In this time he has had the opportunity to open for Tower of Power, John Mayer, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Fishbone and Vanilla Ice. Jake has also had the opportunity perform with Steve Gadd and Kenwood Denard. As a producer, writer, arranger, and sound designer Jake has worked on countless projects for Television, Radio, and indie film. His work in this field including his creative input to large and small scale ad campaigns spans the entire country.

As a clinician, Jake has presented to many school districts &educational committees on creative and effective ways to integrate technology into curriculum at the primary, secondary and post high school levels with his concentration being music and graphic/artistic technology.

Jake’s 2007 release, Hangin’ With Mister G has sold all over 36 US states and 16 countries worldwide.
